Connecting a GameSir controller

GameSir pads connect in up to three ways depending on the model: a cable, a 2.4 GHz USB dongle, or Bluetooth. On PC, the dongle or the cable gives the most consistent results. Plug it in, press a button, and the controller appears above.

All three avoid the potentiometer sticks that wear out on many first party controllers. That makes long term drift rare, but it does not make the sticks perfect: centering still depends on calibration and springs.

What to test

  • Resting offset with the stick drift test. Magnetic sticks often rest very close to zero.
  • Small movements with the linearity test. It shows whether the sampling is fine enough for small aim adjustments.
  • Update rate with the polling rate test. GameSir advertises 1000 Hz on some models, but a web page can only see up to about 250 Hz in Chrome.
  • Trigger travel in the input list above. Models with trigger stops or switchable trigger modes show a shorter range in short mode, which is expected.

Questions about this test

Do GameSir hall effect sticks drift?
They avoid the wear that causes most drift, but a stick can still rest slightly off center because of its calibration or spring. The stick drift test shows the exact offset.
Why does my GameSir show a different name in each mode?
The controller changes the identity it reports depending on its mode and connection, so the browser sees it as a different device.
Can I update GameSir firmware here?
No. Firmware updates need GameSir software. This site only reads inputs.
