Controller gyro test
Connect a DualSense or DualShock 4 by USB, grant WebHID access, then tilt and turn it. All six motion axes update live.

Reports received: 0. Values are uncalibrated sensor counts. The tilt preview follows angular rate, not absolute orientation.
How to run this test
- Use Chrome or Edge on a desktop computer.
- Connect a DualSense or DualShock 4 with a USB data cable.
- Press Connect and pick the controller in the browser prompt.
- Lay the controller flat, then tilt and rotate it along each axis.
How to read the result
- Gyroscope
- Angular rate on three axes, in raw sensor counts. At rest the numbers should hover near a small constant. Large values while the controller is still point to a sensor that needs recalibration by the console or is failing.
- Accelerometer
- Acceleration on three axes, including gravity. Lying flat, one axis shows a large steady value and the other two stay near zero. Rotate the controller and gravity should move from axis to axis.
Questions about this test
- Why do I need WebHID for gyro?
- The standard Gamepad API does not include motion sensors. WebHID lets the page read the raw reports the controller sends, after you grant permission.
- Does it work over Bluetooth?
- This tool decodes the USB report format. Over Bluetooth the controller uses a different format until a driver switches it, so use a cable for this test.
- Can this fix gyro drift?
- No. It only reads values. Gyro drift in games is usually solved by the game or Steam Input recalibrating while the controller lies still.
